VHP of America requests all to donate funds to help the victims and their families who have suffered losses due to devastating floods in Andhra, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa. Your contribution will help the affected area people who desperately need our help. Click here to donate.

VHP of America is working with the volunteers of VHP Bharat to ensure that the donations are used t help the needy and affected people of these regions. Please read the following announcements from VHP Bharat and how VHP volunteers will help the needy people of the above mentioned states.

As you have helped in the past for Katrina victims, Gujarat earthquake victims, 911 tragedy and many other disasters; we kindly ask your support and donation. All donations will be used to help and support the victims of this disaster. VHPA will accept donations only. We are not collecting clothes and other supplies. All of these will be provided by volunteers of VHP in Bharat.

VHP of America is a non-profit organization who provides volunteering services to poor, needy people. The services include education, medical and food for destitute people without any considerations to caste, race, religion, age, gender or social standing.

VHP ANNOUNCES FLOOD RELIEF PROGRAMME
For Andhra, Karnataka, Maharashtra & Goa

Mumbai, October 4, 2009

Concerned over worsening flood situation & human crisis in Andhra, Karnataka, Maharashtra & Goa, VHP announces specific Action Plan for RELIEF & SUPPORT.

1. VHP aims at sending Draft of Rs 10, 00,000 totals for flood relief areas.

2. At Karnool, VHP is running 39 Relief Centres, Mehbubnagar 15. 1.5 Lakh food packets have already been distributed yesterday. More than 500 VHP workers are already at these centres.

3. Other materials being sent immediately:

- Rice & wheat
- Medicines & anti fungal lotions / creams
- Sarees, Towels, sheets, blankets & other clothes
- Tents
- Wheat & jaggery Sukhdi from Gujarat
- Daal
- Kitchen Kits
- Ready to eat biscuits & other food packets
4. Those who want to donate cash, are requested to send the draft / crossed cheque to:

5. To implement the action plan & to disperse the help to the true needy VHP has its own network of karyakartas (workers) as follows:
- Andhra : 3000 VHP Committees (over 35,000 people)
- Karnataka : 1500 VHP Committees (over 15,000 people)
- Maharashtra : 5000 VHP Committees (over 50,000 people)
- Goa : 100 VHP Committees (over 15,000 people)
These dedicated workers to ensure smooth receipt & disbursement of the help.

6. Coming week VHP workers will be on the streets all India with proper identification to collect any help in cash or kind anyone wants to donate.

7. Entire operation of help to these states will be run with local responsible senior people’s supervision where a senior person from will constantly coordinates.
