Amar Chitra Katha - These books in comic book format are entertaining. Many provide biographical information also. Some titles, e.g. Mirabai, Sudama can be paraphrased to children as young as 4. Others, e.g. Vikramaditya have more complex themes and are more suited to ages 11 and above.

Bharata Bharati Books - These are 4”x7” booklets in English about famous personalities from India. Each has about 45 pages and provides valuable biographical information. They are not in comic book format. Translated into English from Kannda. Published by Rashtrotthana Sahitya of Bangalore. Recommended as a resource for Bal-Vihar library.
